This train runs along the East Coast of India between Vijayawada and Howrah and hence the name. Earlier days originating station of this train used to be from Guntur where it was hauled by Steam Engine
This train leaves Hyderabad at 10:00AM and reaches Howrah at 3:55PM the next day. Return it leaves Howrah at 11:45AM to reach Hyderabad at 6:30PM the next day.
This train has 12 sleeper coaches, three 3AC, one 2AC, 2 general and 2 SLR coaches making a total of 20 coaches. The train is hauled by a Lallaguda WAP4 locomotive from Secundrabad to Vijayawada. It reverses there and gets another WAP4 Lallaguda loco and hauls it up to Visakhapatnam. It again reverses there a gets a WAP4 Santragachi loco to haul the train up to Howrah.
